WWII MK2 Brodie Military Helmet British MK3 Chinstrap 1942 Painted No Liner Navy

In this auction you are bidding on a British MK 2 Brodie helmet. It does not have a liner. I believe the chinstrap have been replaced by another type of helmet chinstrap. Chinstrap “bales” have a III and 1942 stamped into it which I researched and are an adaptation from the MK III helmets. I found a manufacturer heat stamp I believe is RO & CO = Rubery Owen & Co Ltd of Leeds.
Someone else painted NAVY on the front on this helmet. I do not believe this to be original. Someone else just wanted it to be like a US doughboy helmet. I bought this not knowing it wasn’t USGI until after looking at it closer.
