    Description

    Guaranteed 100% GENUINE
WW2 era R.N.Z.A.F. King's crown badged SENIOR NCO's side cap (or "wedge" as Americans term them)
This DIFFERS from the usual enlisted rank's version as it has a VELVET SWEATBAND normally ONLY SEEN in the Officer's (Private Purchase) side cap
But this cap is RNZAF Issued with the "RNZAF" Property Stamp
OWNER NAMED to one E. Scott whose RANK was likely Flight Sergeant (A Warrant Officer would have a metal cap badge that same SHAPE Y STYLE as the Bullion-Wire cap badge that Commissioned Officers wore
Superb condition with the unique Brass RAF-type button, but WITH "N. Z." on front (BOTH are WELL-POLISHED showing much USE-WEAR)
The sides do FOLD-DOWN to form a sort-of "Balaclava" for extreme cold weather (later caps did not do this)
SIZE = Metric size 56 (Quite SMALL)
CONDITION = Excellent with NO nasty MOTH Grazing at all (Unusual for NZ Woolen caps)
New Zealand MADE caps were made from **SUPERIOR QUALITY** Wool, As it was "Pure VIRGIN Wool" (Obtained from UGLY sheep) :-)
    NO LESS than
10% of ALL AIRCREW that flew in the epic Battle of Britain were Kiwis (New Zealanders)
That is despite New Zealand having the
    SMALLEST Air Force
    in the entire British Commonwealth
Even the COMMANDER who most will credit with the ultimate RAF Victory was a NEW ZEALADER =
    "Kiwi Keith"
Air Chief Marshal Sir Keith Rodney Park, GCB, KBE, MC & Bar, DFC (15 June 1892 – 6 February 1975) was a New Zealand soldier, First World War flying ace and Second World War Royal Air Force commander. He was in operational command during two of the most significant air battles in the European theatre in the Second World War, helping to win the Battle of Britain and the Battle of Malta. In Germany, he was supposedly known as "the Defender of London".
