    Description

    WW2 British Airborne Para Fibre Rim Jump Helmet 1942 Dated Size 7 1/8. Somebody at some time painted this helmet black over a red for I assume instructor over what appears to be maroon paint. I have had most of the black paint removed which did not effect the red underneath. I did not have this finished but it will give you an idea as to what it looks like. On the front of the helmet is clearly sgt rank which the paint remover did not touch. The leather chin strap is in very good plus shape for its age but it is missing the buckle and one of the nuts on the back of the helmet. The top cushion on the inside is missing. The leather sweatband is sound and and clearly marked BMB 1942 and size 7 1/8. Hard helmet to obtain these days.
