This is a
brand new
auger motor start capacitor for the Bunn CDS or Ultra machines, Part Number 27178.0000.
A capacitor works kind of like a battery in that it stores electrical energy.  When the motor is not moving and electricity is sent to start it, the motor needs a little extra shot of power to overcome its inertia (the tendency of a body to stay at rest).  The energy stored in the capacitor gives the motor that extra shot of power without dragging down the entire machine.
While the auger motors on the CDS  and Ultra machines are equivalent, the CDS is designed to operate its motor in only one direction while the Ultra is designed to have its motor operate in both directions.  If your CDS motor is running backwards (pushing all the product to the back of the hopper) or on either machine an auger motor hesitates to start or you can see the lights dim or hear the motor straining when it starts, you may need a new starting capacitor.
Installing this is simple, takes a few minutes and you'll only need a screwdriver:
