    Description

    Description:
    A lovely antique pleated wool skirt in a natural pale yellow, trimmed in over two yards of 2 3/4" wide handmade Torchon bobbin lace.  Sweet hand-embroidered feather stitching on the two lower bands.  Waist band is creamy white cotton.  One-button placket closure.  Beautifully made.  See photos of button hole and seams all done by meticulous hand. Notice the finishing detail of the bottom end of the placket. I believe this long skirt is intended for a girl - the waist is very tiny, only 21".  It is 27" long and the bottom edge is 76" wide.  It has full, loose, unpressed pleats, so plenty of hip room. Perfect for re-enactors.
    Condition:
    Remarkably good.  Freshly hand laundered. No significant damage.  There are a few small moth holes ( see last two photos ).  A few light stains.  These issues do not detract, as they are mostly hidden by the pleats and gathers.
