Vintage Afghan Ahir Banjara India Ghagra Kutch Shisha Mirror Embroidery Indigo Skirt
This vintage Afghanistan Ahir Banjara India ghagra kutch Shisha mirror embroidery indigo skirt dates from the 1950s. It is made a indigo blue color hand dyed heavy woven cotton twill fabric with a red polka dot print and colorful Shisha kutch embroidery work, chain stitching, buttonhole stitching surrounding small glass mirrors creating an exotic ethnic tribal floral figural designs. This traditional Afghanistan Ahir Banjara tribal wedding skirt is similar in style to the Indian Ghagra Chaniya skirt from Gujarat, Rajasthan India. The beautiful boho wedding skirt has a long length, voluminous full style, with an embroidered red cotton waistband, colorful woven braided sash adjustable back tie closure and is unlined. The skirt measures 35 inches long, with a 24 inch waist which can be made larger and 80 inch hips. It is in good condition, with only some loose missing thread embroidery work and a few broken missing mirrors (see close-up). This is truly a rare and unique piece of one of a kind handmade Afghani, Indian tribal folk costume colorful embroidered boho wearable art!
